Director of Human Resources

The New Hope-Solebury School District is seeking applicants for the position of Director of Human Resources.

Located in Bucks County, PA, the New Hope-Solebury School District serves 1360 students in four buildings with an annual budget of $42 million. Our district is proud to provide an award-winning education with recent accolades including three of four buildings receiving the Governor's Award for Excellence in Education.  The NHS Upper Elementary School is named a Title I Reward School, and our High School is named a 2014 National Blue Ribbon School and also boasts the recognition of being ranked as the #5 High School in Pennsylvania by US News and World Report. Our students' education is complemented by a host of extra and cocurricular activities, including a wide array of sports, clubs, music and theatre activities.

The Director of Human Resources is responsible for providing personnel services to all instructional, professional, administrative, and classified employees. Expected tasks include recruiting, hiring, record keeping, compliance, benefit coordination, handling of leave requests, resignations, terminations, preparing the personal agenda for Board approval, and collective bargaining/contract management. The HR Director is responsible for maintaining highly qualified staff through the recruitment, selection, placement, development, utilization, and retention of employees; equitable compensation practices, and fair and consistent employee relations practices. The HR Director is expected to implement personnel policies and procedures that are in compliance with federal and state requirements, including annual updates from the Pennsylvania Department of Education and the US Department of Education, and to provide uniform application of all of the above services to all employees.

Qualifications include the following:

  • Bachelor's Degree in related field; Master of Human Resources or SHRM PHR, CP, or SCP Certification strongly preferred.
  • Minimum of three years' Human Resources experience in a public school district; substantial experience preferred.
  • All state-mandated clearances are required.

Salary will be regionally competitive and commensurate with experience. The anticipated start date is December 1, 2019.
